Choroní

The town of Choroni is a very old and picturesque colonial town, where many of the fishermen who ply their trade out of Puerto Colombia have lived for generations. Many of the houses are built around the giant rocks that line the river leading down to Puerto Colombia. The fishermen and townspeople can walk the short distance to Puerto Colombia to fish early in the morning or to enjoy the night life at the Malecon at night, but the town of Choroni, in striking contrast to the party atmosphere in Puerto Colombia (especially during holidays and weekends), is still a quiet family oriented village where friends and family sit in the plazas and squares and discuss the events of the day.

Choroni Beach, more properly known as Playa Grande, is a popular beach located in Puerto Colombia, Venezuela.
It is about one hour and a half from the city of Maracay, on the seaside of the Henri Pittier National Park.
