Circuit de Monaco is the name given to a 3.340 km (2.075 mi) motor racing circuit laid out on the city streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine around the harbor of the principality of Monaco. It is commonly referred to as "Monte Carlo" because it is largely inside the Monte Carlo neighborhood of Monaco.
The circuit is used on one weekend in the month of May of each year to host the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix. The first race was held in 1929. The history, spectacle and glamour result in the race being considered "the jewel of the Formula One crown".
