Castlegould (Town of North Hempstead)Howard Gould built Castlegould, completed in 1904, for his wife, Katherine Clemmons. The limestone building was initially modeled to look like Kilkenny Castle in Ireland, on the wishes of his wife. However, upon it's completion, she decided she did not approve of it, and Gould proceeded to build Hemstead House. Unfortunately, they were separated in 1909, before the estate was completed. Castlegould became the stable and servants quarters of the estate.
