It is one of the historical and legendary temples in srirangam. It is so old that its history could not be traced. The temple came into prominence in the middle of the final decade of the previous millenium and was quoted and rated highly by his holiness Late Chandrasekara swamigal of kanchi mutt. The presiding deity is Anna kamatchi amman, considered by many as a replica of Akilandeshwari amman. The temple also has separate enclosures for Dhakshinamurthy, Mahalakshmi, Durgai amman, Navagrahas and a tree devoted to serpentine god.
