Seoul Plaza (Seoul)

Seoul Plaza is an oval shaped central plaza located in front of the Seoul City Hall building. The site was originally a traffic square but reopened on May 1, 2004, as a an open public green space.

Seoul Plaza is elliptical in shape, covering a 13,207 sq meters/142,166 sq feet in total and a 6,294 sq meters/67,755 sq feet of grass covered area. An underground water tank and fountain is installed along with 48 lights around the grass covered plaza. Various cultural festivals and events are held from Spring to Fall, and it is converted into a skating rink in winter.

As one of the attractions of Seoul Plaza, the "Floor Water Fountain", which looks like a normal sidewalk that spurts up water very high from the ground level "floor" holes (so called ‘dancing fountain') when walked across.
