I rented a monthly residence villa during the off-season while stationed in Sardinia in the US Navy, with a beautiful view of Palau from my bed. The woman below had two dogs, Bucchi and Tango, who visited us every day and begged us to go hiking. We saw wild boar, hedgehogs, foxes, tortoises, and other creatures in the bush off of our balcony while we were there. I had a kayak which I would carry down to the water. Best year of my life!
