Brazos Wind Farm (also known as Green Mountain Energy Wind Farm) is located southwest of US Highway 84, about halfway between Post and Snyder, Texas. It lies in the southern part of the 'triangle' formed by US 84, FM 669 and FM 612, and was built in two sections, with 61 turbines in the west and 99 in the east (the central 'gap' being filled in by the Red Canyon wind farm a few years later). Farm to Market Road 1269 goes through the eastern section, which is about 4 miles north of Fluvanna. Commissioned in 2003, it consists of 160 Mitsubishi MWT-1000-61 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 160 MW.
