Not really a mountain pass, but a water gap formed by the Maury River cutting through the Little North Mountain. It is the site of a memorial of Matthew Fontaine Maury, an oceanographer and naval meteorologist.

Goshen Pass Memorial to Matthew Fontaine Maury who died at Virginia Military Institute 1873 and was taken through the Goshen Pass where a stop was made to collect flowers per his dying request. Then the carriage moved on as he was carried on to Richmond Virginia and buried between President Monroe and President Tyler in Hollywood Cemetery overlooking the James River.
