Until the late 1960's, this airport was served by North Central Airlines. The main runway, at 4950 feet in lenght, proved too short to accommodate the new DC-9 jets coming into use and topography and surrounding development left no room for runway extension.
Since the opening of the Cental Wisconsin Airport further south, this airport is used exclusively by the general aviation community.
