Lake Travis is the largest lake in the Greater Austin Metropolitan Area. The lake was made in 1942 with the construction of the Mansfield Dam to the southwest. Lake Travis has a maximum depth of 210 ft, which is nearly equivalent to the JPMorgan Chase Tower in Downtown Austin. It is a popular tourist attraction for boaters.
