Deep Creek Lake

Maryland's largest freshwater lake. Owned by the State of Maryland, and operated by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
Created by the dam built in 1925, Deep Creek Lake is 13 miles long, has 65 miles of shorline, and covers an area of 3,900 acres. Maximum depth 75'.

Property of the Youghiogheny Hydro Electric Corporation of the Associated Gas and Electric System. Lake under the supervision of the Conservation Department of Maryland. The following streams flow into the lake: Deep and Cherry Creeks, North and Green Glades, Meadow Mountain, Piney, Poland, Pawn, Gravley, Marsh, Smith and Bull's Arm Runs.
