Browne Academy is a large private school found south of the city of Alexandria. It provides classes ranging from preschool to middle school. The academy is housed in several buildings, all which surround the historic main house that is the site of the school's main offices. The school was created in 1941 by Ms. Marion Browne, an educator from New York City, and was founded as one of Virginia's first fully racially integrated schools.
The school is currently headed by Margot N. Durkin.
