Märket (pronounced [mɛrket], Swedish for "The Mark") is a small uninhabited skerry in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland (in the area of the autonomous Åland Islands), that since the Treaty of Fredrikshamn (Hamina) of 1809 defined the border between Sweden and Russian empire of going straight through the island. The westernmost land point of Finland is on Märket.
Market reef is a dxcc country (Ham radio) Finnish part is counted as Ham radio entity (All activations have been made from the lighthouse which belongs to Finland). No inhabitants on this small island, just a lighthouse there.Every now and then amateur operators visit the island and operate from there. (Location added by OH1JO)
