The Central Park, Ghansoli is a long awaited project for the residents of Ghansoli. Due to lackadaisical attitude of CIDCO, the site remained neglected. The residents were shown the carrot of Central Park of surrounding societies while selling the flats. However, the project has not materalised till date (May 2011). Numerous unauthorised constructions sprung in the site area. The same were demolised by an order of Bombay High Court based on PIL filed by Navi Mumbai Action Committee on behalf of Ghansoli Welfare Association with active support of residents of the locality. The matter of demolition is yet to get cleared as CIDCO has not demolished one structure in the centre of the Central Park site. The same has been taken up with Bombay High Court through a Contempt Petition.
