The Port Credit Yacht Club was established in 1936 by local sailing enthusiasts. The first clubhouse was erected the same year on the east bank of the Credit River near its mouth on land leased from the Federal Government. Over the years membership grew and new buildings were constructed in 1944 and again in 1965 to replace the older clubhouses.

In 1990, due to an expanding membership and limited dockage at the Port Credit site, it was decided to relocate the club. In 1991 the present facility was opened, featuring a Cape Cod style clubhouse, swimming pool and dockage for 320 boats. With over 700 members, the club maintains an active program of races, regattas, social and educational events.

Known as "The place to be" with a reputation as one of the friendliest Clubs on the lake, Port Credit Yacht Club is set in acres of lush, green parkland on the Ontario Waterfront Trail. It is an idyllic setting with complete amenities yet easily within reach of all that Greater Toronto has to offer.
