Named as Maithon Dam ( Mythologicaly known as "MAI - THAN" ) A Venerete place by every religion .Now it is better known for Hydel Power Plantof DVC , ( www.dvcindia.org )Alongside this dam is a beautifull township , Maithon, fox par by mostly service holders of the Damodar Valley corporation(DVC), an organisation which is instrumental in harnessing the dams resources to produce electricity. Maithon Dam is built on river Damodar.

We used to live at maithon...for long 30 years..
den maithon was really beautiful...
just a year back.i visited maithon...
Present Management & CISF make the dam like a clown...
& CISF are hopeless..
why Gov is wasting so much money after them,,they r worthless & workless..
i'hav noticed,most of them dont know how to hold the guns..
(as i'm from Army)...CISF unit should be thrown outside the maithon..
