Downtown Scottsdale includes Old Town Scottsdale, the Civic Center Mall area, the Main Street and Marshall Ave. art districts, the 5th Ave. shops, and the new Waterfront District. Lots of areas for walking, art galleries, jewelry shops, southwest arts and gifts, a major shopping mall, performing arts center, art gallery, library, restaurants, etc., all within an approximately 10 by 6 block area. Plenty of places to stop and enjoy the good weather. Best time for walking is Fall, Winter, and Spring, but those who don't mind the heat too much walk it in Summer, too. Yes, there are several ice cream shops.
