Nice to know it still is around tho' as a coed school. Things have changed in the last 50 years, when I was a student in 1961-1972. Our Principal then was Fr. Cyril Noronha, God Rest His Soul. Other Faculty Members being Figueredo / Simon / Almeida / Mishra and others.

I passed out in the academic year 1985-86. Ours was the first batch when the S.S.C. results were cent percent. It was great then. We have our alumni and its fun meeting together after a span of nearly 21 years. We meet regularly with our families and enjoy a lot.

I was a student from 1948-54, and obtained my SSC in 1954. I worked in India till 1968 and then migrated to the USA in 1968 where I completed my M.E. in Engineering Mechanics in 1972. My engineering expertise included Welding Engineering and as Principal Engineer (Mechanical & Welding) I pioneered and implemented electro-slag welding of hydro-electric turbines of the 850 megawatt units at Itaipu in Brazil. The process allowed complete fabrication of a single turbine unit from 11-months to 3 months. Itaipu is the worlds's largest hydro power station now in operation with a generation capacity of 13200 Megawatts at a single location.

The principal of the school at that time was Rev Father Hubert Olympus Mascarenhas, more familiarly known to the student body as "Gorilla Ganpath". Reverend Father Mascarenhas was a scholar in languages including Sanskrit and Tamil (I have personal knowledge of the two languages) as my father taught him the Tamil Thirukural and discussed with him elements of the Sanskrit versions of the Upanishads. The exchange was academic; both were staunch adherents of each others faith. Other teachers were Kini (Maths & Science), Burde (English & Math), Joshi (Sanskrit), Bhaskar Ganesh Joglekar (Hindi), and Gama Fernandez (English). All the teachers were dedicated persons who gave their life to teach their charges for which I am eternally grateful. The school is a good school and the best of all the institution was liberal in its attitudes and liberal and catholic and free thinking in its approach to academic instructions. In today's world those qualities (which are getting rarer in today's world with axes to grind) are par excellence and needs to be recognized, valued, and cherished.

i passed out in the year 97-98 and i would say it was one of the good schools with excellent teachers Like May, Susan, Rosy, Sebastian Sir and others but now i understand all of them have retired so im sure it must have taken a lot of toll on quality of people. In this school i have found great friends as well

Joseph Coutinho & Lawrie Coutinho also studied in this school. Our principal was Fr. Cyril Noronha (1970), a good principal(God rest his soul). Our dad Mr. Satirio Coutinho (God rest his soul) used to run a small canteen here. Cheers to all our friends, classmates and ex-students of this great school. God bless this school.
