well , from Yap My friend and I flew there on invitation to set up a solar powered irrigation system. We stayed at the Tarugumal health center for about 7 days while we did our work.1997 was the year, those people on that island were just lovely! As far as I know , the systems that Denis and I set up are still working. Now am try to contact John Lingmar who was originally from Fais, but at that tim was some sort of minister in Yap. so long, Steve Spreckley

I went to Fais in Jan-Feb of 2001. I went there to train and oversee the installation of a 3 KW ground mounted PV system which was to provide power to the computers in the school.
At the time, I pulled the small DC Sureflow pump from the well as it was not
working. I replaced it with the spare, I assume that is what it was, it was tucked away on a shelf in the "medical" center. We had water from that well the whole time that I was there.
I agree, the people were really really friendly. I cried when I had to leave. I was there for 32 days and made some friends. Wonderfull experience.
