Formerly the site of Galaxy Skateland Roller Rink, a used car lot, and a few houses, McFeetors Hall and the Great West Life Student Residence cost 18 million dollars and was designed and constructed my Manshield Construction. Construction was finished in August 2009. It is a LEED silver building and is heated geothermally. It has 25 townhouses (for student families) and 176 dorm-style rooms. Unoccupied rooms are rented to students of other universities or as a part of the UWinnipeg Downtown Hostel. It is 6 stories tall and it is a part of the University of Winnipeg's Campus. During Construction a man committed suicide by jumping off the top of the building.
