Pyongchon-guyok (Pyongyang(P'yŏngyang))


Pyŏngch'ŏn-guyŏk (-district), central P'yŏngyang, North Korea

Pyŏngch'ŏn-guyŏk was established in October 1960. It is the location of several DPRK state owned enterprises, the Mansude Art Studios and several residential units. It also power central P'yŏngyang. South of Ansan Street and west of Sosong Street, P'yŏngyang. This is one of the industrial areas of P'yŏngyang, where machine factories are located. Due to the inclement weather during August 2007, parts of the Phyongchon District nearest the Taedong River have experienced some of the worst flooding in P'yŏngyang.
