Djura Jaksic Memorial Bust is the work of Petar Ubakvic, put up in 1896 with the financial support of the Typographic Choral Association “Jaksic”.
Djura Jaksic (1832–1878) was a poet and painter. He was a teacher in many towns all over Serbia, proof-reader of the state-owned press. He wrote poems and plays, painted portraits, icons and historical compositions in romantic style.
