The monastery is located south of the historical center of Mercatello sul Metauro (PU).
The Convent is the result of many changes and considerable mutilation, so much so that today's St. Francis insists on what a time it was the cloister.
Of ancient XIII century, it was the seat of the Capuchin friars until 1883, when it became the seat of the Episcopal Bishop of Urbania.
