  My mom went to Mercy High and her best friends went to ICA and one of my mom's friends from ICA whom my mom said was wild & crazy, entered the Carmelite Monastery at Cristo Rey in San Francisco. My mother and some friends went to visit this girl and they were allowed in for a visit, but could only speak to the novice carmelite through a screen and iron grilles. My mom said they were not allowed to see her face. The visit was only 15 minutes. My momn said they are only allowed out of the monastery to seek medical attention. Most of their entire day is devoted to prayer,

  I went to Cristo Rey Monastery as a live-in for 1-1/2 months. I loved it. It was a wonderful experience. Remember, sometimes the Spirit is ready, but the flesh is not. I always wanted to go back. May the Lord send them more chosen souls. I pray!!! I wanted to spent the rest of my life in communion and in prayer with God, with out the distractions of the world. Just for Him. Obedience is very important. To God and in the monastery.
