Residence built c. 1925 in the Colonial Revival style for Robert D. Pruyn {financier} on land loaned by John Teele Pratt, Sr. Pruyn served as a prominent stockbroker of the time. After facing losses during the Great Depression, he was forced to return the estate back to the Pratt family.
It was subsequently given to Pratt's daughter and son-in-law Robert and Virginia Pratt Thayer who operated a small farm on the property until 1945. In 1956, the estate was purchased by the Glen Cove School District for use as their administration building.
