History- This remote village of Sitamarhi District got its distinction for so many reasons-i.e, first Engineer, First Govt. Servant of the locality, first woman matriculate, first civil servant(IAS) could come out from this village only. The history of this village is traced back to 1830s, when ar the river confluence of Adhwara and Haldi River the shrub "Narakat" was prominent, so the first settlers, probably Mallah(fisherman) and Gwallas(Milk Man) named it aptly as "Narakatia". During 1850s, A business community family(Kalwar, Jaiswal) migrated to this place from Sahebganj Kesaria, probably to avoid the British Atrocities after Sepoy Mutiny. This village was accessible only by bullock cart till 1985.
