  • I remember we stopped here in Sept. 1987 on our charted 747 on our way to West Germany for Return of Forces to Germany (REFORGER). When we left Ft. Hood all geared up, BDUs and weapons, our NCOs told us not to joke and yell,"Hi Jack, how are ya?". One NCO popped the door open while we sat and refueled so we could feel the cool Bangor breeze.Never got to touch foot on the ground. Got fuel, then long flight to West Germany. HELL ON WHEELS.
