Built in 1964 as the Hotel America, later the Sonesta Hotel, then the Summit Hotel, then the Clarion. Closed in 1994 and bought by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, after which it sat vacant for some time. It was finally sold in January 2011 and converted into luxury apartments. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
