bar, pub / public house, inn
Famous old inn, now owned by the National Trust.
The pub was owned by the Byrd family, who built it in around 1400. In 1977, Lola Taplin left it to the National Trust.
The pub is famous for the "Witch circles", drawn on the floor in front of each hearth. This local tradition was practiced to prevent witches from entering down the chimneys!
