NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, bridge, vertical-lift bridge / lift bridge
Built 1934-1936 by the Sacramento Northern Electric Railroad. National Register #82004845. Originally painted with "silver" aluminum paint the same as any other railroad bridge. In 1976 it was decided to repaint it in a "gold" color because this is in the state capital and California is, after all, "the Golden State."
