Volkswagen Factory (Wolfsburg)

This is the largest Volkswagen factory and is one of the largest factories in the world. It is said to be the size of Monaco and 30,000 people are employed here. Many live in nearby communities. The offices are in a multi storey building. It has its own power plant which is next to "Autostadt" which are easily recognisable by the 4 chimney stacks. A channeled river runs alongside the factory and the water is used for the feautres in Autostadt and for cooling in the power plant.
Arbeitsdorf was a concentration camp established by the Nazis in 1942.The museum Stadtschloss Wolfsburg has a documentation about the Nazi victims with its own exhibition of the slave workers at the Volkswagen factory. (Stadtmuseum Schloss Wolfsburg, Schlossstraße 8, 38448 Wolfsburg)
