Kuala Balai, is the first Administrative Capital of Belait District in early 1900s. The District Officer at that time, YAM Pengiran Shah Bandar Anak Hashim, was the person who insisted in the search for petroleum in Labi area which resulted in Brunei being one of the richest oil and gas producing country in the world. |
