This sign reads "Citizens! During artillery bombardment this side of the street is most dangerous".
The white plaque reads "This poster was saved in memory of the heroism and courage of the people of Leningrad during the 900-day siege of the city". The blue paint is refreshed every year on May 9th.
Heavy german artillery was stationed in the south on Pulkovo Heights 10–28 km from the city. So nothern side of street was more dangerous then southern. Some of the war time warnings were saved as a memorial.
