At this location in the early morning of July 11, 2022, a Brink's truck containing jewelry that had been on display at a show in San Mateo, California was robbed. While one armed guard (who had been driving) went into the station to eat, the other guard was asleep in the cab. When the driver returned, he saw that the trailer's tamper seal had been cut, and 24 of the 73 jewelry containers were gone. The stolen merchandise totaled over $100 million in value, making this the largest jewelry heist in American history. On June 17, 2025, seven men were charged with the robbery, and in the process of executing these warrants "less than half" of the missing jewelry was recovered.
