Peravoor has been a very well- known village for its Kamakshi Amman temple, ஆதித்தேஸ்வரர் Lord Shiva temple. other temples: adhikeswara perumal temple, Pillayar temple, ayyanar temple. It seems to have been a great shiva- vishnu temple and has been mentioned in Dhevaram by Thirunaavukkarasar. Today only the kamakshi shrine is predominant.
