One of the "Seven Summits" in the Phoenix area, provides an excellent Sunday morning past time for hiking enthusiasts.

Camelback Mountain is one of the most prominent peaks in the Phoenix Mountains, and one of the easiest to recognize, since it closely resembles a camel lying on the ground.

Camelback hosts a number of the valley's most famous resorts around its base, including Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, the Camelback Inn, the Royal Palms, and The Phoenician.

  • There are two main trails for hiking. The "easier" of the two is Cholla Trail and is accessed via the eastern side of the mountain. The second is Echo Canyon which is located and accessed on, the western side of the mountain.
