  • I traveled on 27th June 2008 with my daughter from India (Mumbai) to USA(NC-Charlotte). My journey was extremely bad. I am having surgery done on my abdominal wall just month ago and my Dr advised me not to lift any weight or do not bend or do not climb any steps. As per this instruction when I booked my ticket I told AMX agent to book wheel chair for me and have asian veg food for me and Kids special veg for my daughter. I got reply from agent this was booked everything on flight for me. When I called reservation office for confirmation of my ticket two days before my travel, they said yes everything is book and confirmed. On the day of travel when I went to check in counter, airline agent told me they don’t have any confirmation for wheel chair for me. After my request, so much explanation I gave about my surgery and then finally I got the wheel chair. When I landed in Frankfurt again I had to give explanation that I need wheel chair. When I reach the gate for flight to Charlotte, I got no help from crew member at the boarding gate. My daughter is 23 months old and she was crying on the floor and no one helped me to lift her and give me, as I was not suppose to bend. It is the one gentle men who was flying the same flight, help me with my daughter. He took my daughter from ground and took in his hand. At this point I was looking from Airline crew to help me , but I got the response as – Mam can’t you make your daughter quite as we are getting disturb by her crying”. Instead of helping they gave above reply. After that the flight was up and we had to climb some steps, I said I can’t do that but they forced me to climb that steps. At this time that gentle man took my daughter in his hand and with other hand he took my league and he dropped me till my seat. After all this I asked air hostess to put my league upstairs in upper cabin but they did not help me with that as well. I had to take help from other passenger. When food was served I asked for my asian veg meal and Kids veg meal, but they refused to give that. They said they don’t have anything in veg. My daughter and I had to strive entire journey. We were given only juice and peanuts only for 9 hr journey. They did not even gave milk to my daughter. With all these I suffered a lot and I had to have 1 week bed rest. Dr. told me that whatever happen during my travel gave me lot of strain to my surgery. Even my daughter was not well because of hunger for long duration. I request you to please look into this matter with high priority, so that no other passengers suffer like me and my daughter. Also, with this experience I will not think of traveling by US airways again.
