Tea building was built between 1931 and 1933 as a bacon factory for Lipton and Allied Foods. In the late 1930s it started to be used for processing and packing tea.

Now it had been converted to be East London's centre for media and creative industry, many floors of the building have been converted into studio spaces. Also in the building are bars and eating places.
