The western terminus of the Hetch-Hetchy Aqueduct, from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Yosemite National Park to Crystal Springs Reservoir.

Pulgas Water Temple and its parking lot are open to the public on weekdays, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The parking lot is closed on weekends, except for permitted events. To obtain a permit for your wedding or group event, call the SFPUC at 650-872-5900.

Cañada Road is closed to car traffic every Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from November to March, and from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM from April to October, for the enjoyment of hikers and bicyclists. For details call San Mateo County Parks Department at 650-361-4020.

  • As a kid I always wanted to take a swim in the reflection pool at that place. LOL At the temple structure itself, before bars were put into place, people used to dive down into the temple opening and ride the water stream down to the lake, similar to a waterpark slide ride.
  • Also see the Sunol Water Temple across the Bay to the East. It is a similar structure.
