Located on a portion of the former Brooklyn Navy Yard, GMD Shipyard Corp. is a private full-service shipyard providing repair, refit and repainting services to both commercial, private and government vessels which meet airdraft requirements for the Brooklyn Bridge.
The yard utilizes twin 1092'x150'x36' graving docks and a single 280'x66'x30' dual purpose graving dock and wet berth to perform its services on vessels up to and exceeding 1000ft in length. The yard also operates seven gantry cranes with capacity ranging from 10 to 200 tons and offers connection to Electrical, Fresh Water, Steam, Compressed Air and Firemain systems. Shoreside, GMD has full service Carpenter, Electrical, Machine, Piping, Plate, Rigging, Sandblasting, Paint and Tailshaft Shops.
