HCR Manor Care Building (Toledo, Ohio)

USA / Ohio / Toledo / Toledo, Ohio / North Summit Street (OH-65), 333
 headquarters, nursing home, rehabilitation

Constructed 1987-89, the 16 story 226,000 sq. ft. building was not occupied until 1990 after Libbey-Owens Ford, the original tenant, backed out of its agreement with the building's owner, Toledo Trust. In 1990 Toledo Trust's successor, Cleveland based Society National Bank moved its offices out of the old Toledo Trust Building at 245 Summit Street to the new tower.

In 1998 the building was acquired by the newly formed HCR Manor Care, which resulted from the merger of Toledo based Health Care and Retirement Corp. and Manor Care based in Maryland. HCR Manor Care builds and operates assisted living and skilled nursing centers. The Toledo headquarters occupies 209,000 sq. ft. and employs 680.
