Askham Bog is a nature reserve maintained by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Donated to the Trust in 1946, it is the Trust's oldest reserve. The reserve is the remnant of a valley mire which developed in to a range of fen and carr habitats. It is renowned for its rare wetland plants and animals.
