Sanawad is a Municipality city in district of West Nimar, Madhya Pradesh.
The Sanawad Municipality has population of 38,740 as per report released by Census India 2011.
Sanawad is an Indian town on the bank of the Bakud River in Khargone district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a popular center for the trade of cotton and chili peppers and is also noted for its Jain temples.

Small but full of life at the bank of river "Bakud" where born great men : Avinash Pancholiya, Seth Mayachand jain,om prakash ganeshilal maheshwari(om seth, atut wale),sethDr. Londhe, Chaturvedis, Jains & Maheshwari families. It is a popular center for cotton & chilly trades also famous for dargah- Piran-e-peer, Jardar Beedi & jain temples.

This is also a place where person like Harminder Singh Dua was born and brought laurels to this town by working in organizations like Indian Space Research Organization, Mahindra British Telecom, Tata Honeywell and Hewlett Packard.Also Mother Teresa came here in 1982 at s.r.g.h.s.school, and grt philosopher OSHO came here in 1962 at m d jain school for a speech on bomb dropped on japan by american president in 1945. Its actual name was GULSHANABAD,then as time passes it got converted into SANAWAD.SANAWAD is well known for its calmicity and brotherhood nature between hindus and muslims.
