  • key west's name was derivied from Cayo Hueso...the story has it that when english speakers came to the island and heard the locals call it Cayo Hueso they thought that they were saying key west...Cayo Hueso means Bone Island...mostly becuase the people indigenous to the area were cannibals...Hence Key West
  • Key West was cool in the 70's & 80's...til Buffett sang about it. It's Paradise Lost now. Too many people from up north have moved here and ruined the ambiance. Margaritas made from a mix! Paid $40USD for two omelets and water...NO COFFEE (12/2009)....they upscaled the place from a rum runners/drug smugglers pair-o-dice to an over priced tourist trap. Shut off the waterfall, the tourists have gone home.
