Stroudsburg is a borough in and the seat of Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the Poconos region of the state, approximately five miles (8 km) from the Delaware Water Gap, at the confluence of the Brodhead and Pocono Creeks. It is the county seat of Monroe County. Stroudsburg is part of the East Stroudsburg-Stroudsburg Micropolitan area. It is the 7th largest micropolitan area in the United States with a population of 165,058.

Stroudsburg was first settled by Jacob Stroud, laid out at right angles, with a liberal plan of broad avenues, and houses set back thirty feet from the sidewalk, resembles a New England village. Courthouse, built, 1890, of rough stone, with high chimneys and belfry, contains portraits of judges; with jail and county house forms group facing the public square.
