The Modern Diner, a 1940 Sterling Streamliner, was the first diner to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Modern has perhaps the most imaginative weekend brunch menu of any diner in Rhode Iland. Items like Lobster Benedict, cream cheese-and-blueberry stuffed French toast, kielbasa-and-cheddar omelets and pumpkin-walnut pancakes. The Modern was moved to it's present location in 1985.
