A bird and wildlife sanctuary including pine flatwoods, open marsh and cypress swamp. There is a boardwalk leading through the various biomes, with information signs. Barred Owls are almost always seen, as are many wading birds. In season Wood Storks nest within the sanctuary. A good day trip.

  • I visited on a windy February day, and saw a remarkable variety of wildlife--the wind kept the birds grounded and low water concentrated the aquatic critters in pools. Otters swam under my feet as I walked the boardwalk. A memorable experience.
  • One of my favorite places to visit. I would recommend it to anyone who loves nature or would just like a nice quiet walk in a peaceful environment.
