The fort covering an area of 5 acres is built on a hillhock and is surrounded by three massive stone walls. It is divided in 2 by 4 main parts, the oldest is Gusain Mahal, the next is 'Ranwas', the third Rajgarh Palace and the fourth the Rang Mahal Palace, which is a splendid four storied building embellished with paintings on the walls and ceilings.
