The medieval Eastern Orthodox Church of Christ Pantocrator in town of Nesebar is dated to the XIIth - XIVth century and is best known for its lavish exterior decoration. It is one of the Bulgaria`s best preserved churches of the Middle Ages.
The church is designed in late Byzantine cross-in-square style and has an exquisite construction, perfect proportions and picturesque facade decoration. It is rectangular with dimensions 16 m in length and 6,90 m in width and is constructed from stones and brickwork. The church has two gates - to the south and to the west. The exterior walls have rich and colourful decoration - blind arches, floral motifs, triangular ornaments, circular turquoise ceramics, brick swastika friezes, etc.
