In honor of Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple one-Blackwood, 1st count of Dufferin, 1st marquis of Dufferin and of Ava (1826 Florence, Italy - 1902, Birmanie). Lord Dufferin is invited in October 1878, at the time of his last official activity in times that general Governor of Canada, to put the angular rock of the terrace Dufferin, a walk overhanging the river st-laurent to Quebec, constructed according to its own drawings.
